WEIGHT SCALE TRACKS 9 DIFFERENT BODY MEASUREMENTS
~ What ~
Made of glass and metal, this scale can sync with an Android or iPhone and with Fitbit, Apple Health, and Google Fit as it tracks up to 10 people’s weight. Able to analyze body fat, water, muscle mass, BMI, BMR, visceral fat, bone mass, and protein, it has a downloadable app that documents and monitors effortlessly. Instructions and 3 AAA batteries are included.
~ Why ~
Like a lot of people, I weigh myself every morning. The current scale I use is similar to this black glass-top design, but it only shows my weight. I like that this product can not only keep track of 9 essential measurements but also can work with a Fitbit and Samsung Galaxy smartphone. It was the easiest Bluetooth download app I have ever used. It is helpful that my husband can track his numbers too on his Fitbit/smartphone.
~ Why Not ~
In stepping on this scale repeatedly over a half-hour, I weighed 4 different amounts. When I compared it to my existing scale (which I always thought was accurate), at one point it was 2-tenths lighter (otherwise 1-2 pounds off). I know I retain water not only throughout the day, but also over a day or two, so I am unsure how accurate the numbers are as this time I was low. The app has confusing data on its measurements such as body fat (as a female, it states I am considered obese yet am not), and my BMI is in the normal range. Some may not like that they have to carry their smartphone into the bathroom whenever they get on the scale to check their numbers.
~ Wish ~
Since I have osteoporosis, I wish there was a way to check bone density (again, the data of 5.1 BM does not compare with body mass or other of my medical numbers, even when I researched online). I wish there were more explanations and charts in the phone regarding the data as it is extremely limited. I could not find any more information on the product’s website either.
~ Want ~
If you are looking for a way to check your weight and other important measurements of your body via a smart app, this would be an asset if you could understand what the numbers were about and if they were accurate.
