TRAINING THE PUPPY
~ What ~
This kit contains 2 clickers, 2 whistles, and 2 twisted ropes to train a dog. The clickers come with corded rubber wrist straps and lobster-claw clasps, and the whistles can be adjusted in volume while the ropes are 8 inches long. Instructions are included for the clickers.
~ Why ~
We have a one-year-old beagle who does not listen and is stubborn, so we need to ramp it up a little with these clickers and whistles. I like that I can be able to get our dog’s attention by using a clicker or whistle that he will slowly be trained to listen for. Since he loves chewing, the ropes with knots on both ends are fun to play tug-of-war with him.
~ Why Not ~
Some may not like training their dogs with the 2 different sounds and prefer using the treat method. Others may think the whistles do not work, but if taken out of their plastic jackets and the metal shaft is turned, the sounds can be altered. When trying the whistles, we noticed our dog came running out of curiosity, but we are unsure he will continue this pattern over time due to his stubbornness.
~ Wish ~
I wish the ropes were at least a foot long; as is they are hard to hold onto with a medium sized dog.
~ Want ~
If you are looking for a pet training kit that comes with 2 clickers, 2 whistles, and 2 rope toys, this may help, but be sure to adjust the whistles so they can be used.
