“So children are the key,” Lilly remarks in Jordyn Redwood’s novel, Proof.

~ What ~
First in the Bloodline Trilogy, this three-hundred-twelve-page paperback targets those interested in a Christian suspense novel involving a serial rapist and the medical field. With the word hell used in a quote, topics of rape, unplanned pregnancy, torture, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The book includes acknowledgments and the author’s biography.

In this story, Dr. Lilly Reeves is an ER physician who is drugged and attacked by a serial rapist in Colorado. Her Christian friend, Kadin, an OB/GYN doctor who is loyal and always wanting the best for her, tries to protect Lilly when she tries to track down her abuser. Learning she is pregnant, she deals with pain, sleeplessness, and despair while a sensitive detective seems to be the only one who believes her accusations.

~ Why ~
This book offers a look into the emergency room and obstetrician’s workplace with its detailed medical information as Lilly learns what a chimera is and can do based on DNA. With a touch of faith in God as the answer, the book shows how He is always there for us, no matter what challenges we face.

~ Why Not ~
Those who do not like a lot of medical jargon will pass on the book’s continual references and explanations. Others may not like reading rape and murder mysteries.

~ Who ~
A critical care and emergency nurse for almost twenty years, Redwood is also a blogger dedicated to helping authors write medically accurate fiction. She lives with her husband and family in Colorado, and this is her debut novel.

~ Wish ~
I wish pronouns of God were capitalized for reverence. The medical inferences were tedious (and I have a husband in the medical field).

~ Want ~
If you want a medical mystery fiction of a rapist who thinks he can get away with murder until one woman has to make a deciding sacrifice, this may be a viable option by a new writer.
