~ What ~
At one-hundred-and-seventy-six pages, this paperback that is republished from 2012 targets those who are looking for a thirty-one day devotional of the Book of Proverbs. Using the New American Standard Version of the Holy Bible, also the KJV and TLB are referenced.

Dedicating one chapter to each of the thirty-one chapters in Proverbs, the book has the Scripture written out for the day’s reading. After each chapter, a two-to-four page inserted prayer is added that correlates to the Bible’s writings. The ending includes almost thirty Proverb principles in alphabetical order with verses and paragraph explanations.

~ Why ~
Daily Bible reading helps one grow in Christ, and Proverbs is a wonderful devotional book to study. With each chapter of the Bible written out, the prayers expound on lessons taught as one asks for wisdom and understanding. I like how the prayers are in sync with the Scripture, in order, referring to God’s Word. It is a good way to read a verse or two and turn the page to focus on a prayer about the topic, switching back and forth until the chapter and prayer are completed.

~ Why Not ~
For one who does not want to spend time in the Word of God, he or she may pass on this one. My hope is the Bible is often read , drawing them closer to God.

~ Who ~
Bestselling author of almost a dozen books, Mason is a minister, speaker, and founder and president of Insight International and Insight Publishing Group. He lives in Oklahoma.

~ Wish ~
Loving that the verses are written out on the pages, I would not change anything about this book. I like how the prayers are tender, hopeful, and dwell on God’s love.

~ Want ~
If you are looking for a daily devotional that will take a month to complete, this one on Proverbs is an excellent way to spend time with the Lord.
