2015 Daily Planner

Title: 2015 Daily Planner
Author: Sue Hooley
Publisher: Vision Publishers
ISBN: 978-1-932676-84-6

“We measure time by years, months, weeks, and days. Likewise, events, projects, and normal duties can be categorized in the same orderly way,” Sue Hooley writes in the introduction to her book, 2015 Daily Planner.

This six-by-nine inch spiral bound paperback contains two hundred and thirty-six pages and targets women who are pressed for time, need to stay organized, and like using daily planners. A thicker cardstock is used for the front and back of the book for protection and extended use.

After an ownership and important phone number page, small four year calendar, and formatting instructions, it is divided into seven yellow-tabbed sections: year, month, week, tasks, projects, information, and shopping. Famous short quotes by Ten Boom, Judson, Moody, Nicolas, and Gruden are written on each cardstock tab with Bible verses written out on the weekly pages. Information on 2016’s book and order form with a pocket holder complete the package.

Having a mini calendar for two years and dates-to-remember pages, the Year tab is simple and direct. The Month tab begins in December 2014 and ends January 2016, having over one-inch white square daily boxes with noted holidays. A sidebar for notes is on the left side of each page with the prior and future month as small icons on the top right.

The majority of the pages are in the Week section that includes a Tasks List, each day and date of the month with lines for writing, and a section titled Menu for meals to prepare. Saturday and Sunday areas are shared in one day’s spacing.

Each of the next two tabs contains twenty-four lined pages for writing Tasks or Projects, with the first using the full page and the second containing two areas. The Information tab is for names, phone numbers, and addresses while the final tab, Shopping, offers three columns on eighteen pages to write in needed items on both sides.

As the author recommends using the book to write down future appointments, have an at-a-glance idea how the month is set up, or plan meals for the week, there is plenty of writing space and room to take notes.

Knowing each woman charts, categorizes, and organizes her time differently, having so many options in this book is a helpful tool that will, no doubt, keep women organized and more structured in their busy lives.
